Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test ( UPTET ) is a state-level test, which will be conducted in the third week of November this year by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board ( UPBEB ) for the recruitment of upper-primary (middle-school) and primary-level teachers in different schools of the state. UPTET registration 2019 is likely to start soon after the UPTET 2019 exam notification is released. Here are some of the important UPTET Dates 2019 an aspirant needs to know of: 

Although the official notification has not been released yet, the UPTET 2019 exam is likely to be held in the third week of November. This means that you have approximately two months to prepare for the exam. UPTET exam is not so tough to pass if one starts preparing methodically and systematically. With a well-organized timetable, the right study material, and guidance if you prepare the next two months, it becomes easy to qualify for the UPTET exams. Follow 3 Ps Strategy

For any exam preparation, the 3 Ps, plan, prepare and practice, must be adopted.

Plan: Planning involves preparing a schedule by setting up a timetable as well as the time to be devoted to each subject. It is also essential to analyze your ability. 

Prepare:  After planning, the next step is to prepare according to the plan. Preparation must be done according to the timetable and days committed for each subject. The weekends can be used for mock tests and sectional tests for certain subjects.

Practice: Practice makes an individual perfect. Certain subjects such as Mathematics, Grammar, Reasoning, and so on necessitate practice. Practicing will raise your self-esteem as  well as will give you the needed confidence to attempt the exam

Understand Exam Pattern and Syllabus

To get the best result it is important for an aspirant to be thorough with the UPTET Syllabus and exam pattern. This will provide the structure and base for revision and will facilitate understanding how the subjects fit together. The syllabus also explains how the allocation of marks would be and how each of the subjects within the paper is weighted.

There are two levels of UPTET exam, and both are conducted in an offline mode (OMR Sheet).

•  Level-I is for Primary Teachers (Class I-V)

•  Level-II for TGT (Class VI-VIII)

Both levels have different syllabus; however, the pattern of the exam is the same. There would be 150 questions in total and candidates have two hours and thirty minutes to attempt the exam. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The qualifying marks for the UPTET exam is:

General category: A minimum of 60 percent marks (90 out of 150 marks)

ST/OBC/SC category: A minimum of 55 percent marks (82 out of 150 marks)

Solve Previous Years' Question

Solving previous year's question papers is essential to score a good percentage on the test. By solving these papers, one can get to know the types of questions asked in the examination, analyze the trend, evaluate the performance and find areas that require more attention, and enhance the preparation level.

Candidates must practice and focus on subjects that are of high importance and solve more questions related to them.

Instead of reading concepts, it is vital to understand them in-depth. Candidates must try to engage in smart studying instead of merely reading the whole day.

Attempt at least three mock test series or solve question bank over the weekend and analyze weak areas. This helps in finding areas that need more work and understand which topics need more preparation.

Improve Accuracy

In the UPTET exam candidates can attempt all the questions since there is no negative marking. Hence, candidates need to practice solving more questions to improve their accuracy and also have a good speed to attempt all questions on time.

Prepare Quick Notes

While preparing for the UPTET exam, candidates must prepare short or quick notes for all the essential topics subject-wise. These short or quick notes will facilitate quick revision of the entire syllabus before the exam. Use of text highlighter for revising key points and making short tables and notes for formulas, important concepts, concepts/definitions, among others promotes active learning, attention to detail, boosts understanding and retention, and improves focus.
